First of all, I would like to thank everyone in Yorktown and the surrounding area for all of your prayers, support, thoughts and messages since we began this journey a little over a month and a half ago. So many people have taken the lead in helping raise funds to help Jason and our family our during this difficult time. I could have never imagined three years ago when I was offered a job here at Yorktown Elementary School that God was leading me back to Yorktown with my three children for this.
I would like to take this opportunity to recognize several people who have blessed us in so many ways. I want to apologize up front if I leave out a name. I can barely remember my own name some days right now, and I in no way would ever not give credit or praise for the endless hours many people have spent to help us. One of the first fundraisers was my sweet Brylee Clayton who set up a lemonade stand in town to raise money to help Jason.
Thank you so much Brylee for your kindness and generosity. All these ladies are so creative with their des, and who can every have enough t-shirts? The Alvarez family continued to bless us as they planned the sausage benefit that took place last weekend. There are so many people I need to thank and I only have a few names of folks I saw there when Jason came for a visit. I would also like to thank Hilltop Services Mr. Thomas Stepanski and family for donating all the meat that Michael and his family then made into sausage for the plates. There was also a generous donation that paid for the remainder of the items needed to serve the meal.
As for the Swinging for a Cure Benefit Softball Tournament on Sunday, I am in awe once again how so many people had a hand in the success of the tournament. There were eight teams from Yorktown and the surrounding area who entered the tournament. They played in the sweltering heat until well after am Monday morning. I would first like to acknowledge the three ladies that organized this entire event from start to finish: Krystal Everitt, Jody Hall, and Kristy Sertuche.
Without their hard work, dedication and love for my family, this would not have been possible and for that ladies, I will forever be in your debt. I would like to say a special thank you to the Saunders family for their generous donation to the tournament and for selling the wonderful jerseys throughout the day and night. Thanks to all those who helped work in the concession stand and visit with us today. So much love and prayer has been given to our family, I cannot begin to thank everyone individually or enough.
Jason has received so many cards, gifts, donations, prayers, messages, texts, visits, etc that it is overwhelming sometimes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.
